5 Music Feuds That Ended in 2014

Length of feud: June 2002 - February 2014

The long-standing feud between Nas and Cam'ron began in 2002 as an off-shoot of Nasir's beef with Jay Z. Following a cancelled performance at Hot 97's Summer Jam—where Nas planned on lynching a Jay Z doll—he went on Power 105 and dissed pretty much every artist Roc-A-Fella, including Cam. "I buy these people albums and they ain't talking about nothing. From Cam to... I mean like Cam and everything. He's a good lyricist but the album [Come Home With Me] is wack." Cam'ron responded, and a series of diss songs followed that involved members of Killa's Dipset crew and Nas' Braveheart brethren. At one point, Cam even diss Nas saying, "Take your daughter, R. Kelly, have my way with her face!"

Though the beef cooled off for years after that, a photo of the two surfaced on Cam'ron's Instagram this past February. "#QB #HARLEM #UwasntThere" added Cam'ron, in the caption. You're right Cam, we weren't, but we're glad it happened regardless.

Length of feud: September 2012 - February 2014

The 2012 BET Awards brawl is probably the height of the Young Jeezy and Rick Ross beef, but the story actually starts two years prior.

Before any hands were thrown, Rick Ross released the song "BMF (Blowing Money Fast)" in 2010. When the Snowman hopped on a remix of the track called "Death B4 Dishonor," he rapped, "How you blowin' money fast/You don't know the crew/Oh, you part of the fam?/Shit, I never knew." Later in a RapFix interview, Jeezy said, "I just killed the verse. If I killed the verse and you took it personally, then that's on you."

Good intentions and all, Ross wasn't having it, and in addition to fighting the Atlanta rapper, shots were even fired in the parking lot of the awards show. It's tough to squash beef after laying hands on somebody—Rick Ross allegedly tried to choke Jeezy at the 2012 BET Awards—but one common interest was the key to reconciliation: money. After a heart to heart conversation brokered by their mutual friend T.I., the two realized that they could stack way more with combined efforts and released the song "War Ready" from Rick Ross' album Mastermind.

Length of feud: April 2008 - June 2014

50 Cent's strained relationship with G-Unit members technically dates back to 2005 when he kicked Game out of the crew. But we kinda doubt those two are ever gonna squash it. So lets go back to April 2008, when 50 Cent kicked Young Buck out. 50 also publicly humiliated Buck by releasing a recorded phone call of his former labelmate crying about his finances.

Issues within the G-Unit camp didn't stop there. In the past few years, 50 Cent fell out with Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks as well for not pulling their weight in the crew. But it all ended this past June though when the core four reunited at Summer Jam. And they've been releasing gems ever since, like "They Talked About Jesus" and "Nah I'm Talking 'Bout."

Length of feud: March 2014 - June 2014

R&Beef brewed between August Alsina and Trey Songz earlier this year after August called out Trey for being fake. "I don't really fuck with Trey right now. We don't get along right now," August said. "Like I tell people all the time, show me that you're this person on day one... You should always be that person." This feud also prompted August's infamous outburst on 106 & Park, where he put host Keshia Chanté on blast for asking about Trey.

But they put their issues aside at this years' BET Awards, when August brought Trey Songz out to perform the remix of "I Luv This Shit" together. Alas, their brotherhood in R&B continues.

Length of feud: June 2012 - July 2014

Leave it to Rihanna, one of the baddest chicks on the planet, to inspire one of the most vicious feuds in recent memory. Drake and Chris Brown may have harbored sour feelings toward each other because of their mutual ex, but their beef came to a head when the two crossed paths in a New York night club in June 2012. Absolute mayhem broke out after Drake reportedly sent Chris a note that read, "I'm fucking the love of your life." The scuffle left Chris with a gashed chin. Drake added insult to injury a year later when he claimed that Rihanna "fell into my lap."

In the time since both have gravitated towards different things, but Chris has dissed Drake a number of times on wax. However, Chris Brown's relationship with Karrueche and Drake's recent breakup from Rihanna must have given them some common ground, because the two were photographed working together in the studio just last night. Guess it's not too late for a "Loyal" remix with Drizzy.
