Well isn't this just the absolute highlight of recent weeks, if not the whole year. Rustie, da gawd, has come out of relative hiding and debuted a new single in "Raptor" and announced a new full length album, Green Language, which will drop August 25 on Warp. Assuming some of you readers are completely naive to the world of Rustie, his 2011 debut album Glass Swords completely changed the game. As in, so much of what you hear that's cracking on the future bass/video game tip right now is 100% directly influenced by him. There was the epic "Triadzz" / "Slassherr" single from last year, and he also knocked out some production for Danny Brown on his last album (Danny is one of the featured acts on Green Language), so he hasn't been completely out of sight. But as "Raptor" and the news of the new album were dropped by Annie Mac last week, this writer alone has to pinch himself repeatedly. Rustie is the Michael Jordan of this shit. "Raptor" is definitely jaw dropping and totally worthy of his airness. Get ready for what promises to be an immediate contender for album of the year.
