Although he's been making a name in the music game for quite some time now, some of you may be unfamiliar with Luke James. The singer/songwriter, who went to high school with Frank Ocean, had previously been behind the scenes crafting songs for artists like Chris Brown, Keri Hilson and Justin Bieber.
Over time, he's been stepping into the spotlight with two of unofficial releases, one that hosted the song "I Want You," that garnered him a Grammy nomination. These days, Luke is gearing up to drop his debut studio album.
He stopped by Complex to discuss how he found himself touring with Beyoncé, his newest single "Options," which features a guest verse from Rick Ross, as well as the rest of his forthcoming album, which he thoughtfully describes as "very moody. kind of dark, but we have some color on there."
The self-titled album Luke James releases is slated for late September, but until then check out the interview above.
