Early Wednesday morning, The New York Times Magazinepublished a feature-length profile of TDE superstar, Kendrick Lamar. The piece details the life of K-Dot on the road with Kanye West's Yeezus Tour. The conversation between writer Lizzy Goodman and Lamar carried on over the course of weeks, beginning at the Brooklyn stop of the tour and traveling throughout the country, and captures rare glimpses into Kendrick's more personal dealings.
But at one point in the interview, Kendrick cops to being thrifty—to say the least—when talks of partying in Miami arise on his tour bus. This comes as no surprise for anyone who's paid attention to his narrative, but most definitely contradicts the widely held opinion of the "It's mine, I spent it" persona widely associated with most hip-hop artists.
Check out the video above to see exactly what Kendrick had to say, and don't forget to check out the rest of the piece over at the Times.
