I don't ask for much, do I? I accept that there's music I love, and things I just, well, won't. And I rock with material outside of dance music from time to time, but I always look around like "wait, no one has remixed that yet?!" That's just me. With that said, these are some non-dance tracks that I kind of wish someone would remix. Preferably some Jersey club remixes, because you know.
Bobby Shmurda - "Hot Nigga"
That guy Jahlil Beats has been on a roll, and this guy Bobby Shmurda out of Brooklyn feels like he might be next up. I'm all for viral Internets in my dance music, and feel like this one could be flipped perfectly.
Ryn Weaver - "OctaHate"
Ryn's very new, but she's very hot. As in, over 300K plays in three days. That might be what happens when you have Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat behind your debut single, but it feels like she's going somewhere. This track could totally turn into anything from Jersey club to that 8-bit turndown. Maybe a good Lindsay Lowend rework.
Lil Wayne - "Krazy"
Weezy's spitting hard; not "A Milli" hard, but it has that vibe. This could EASILY get a Jersey club rework.
Ty Dolla $ign ft. Wiz Khalifa and DJ Mustard - "Or Nah"
"Or nah" is a movement–not the track, but the phrase. The way this one goes down, this could be a house tune, a Jersey club tune (bedsqueaks are already there), or some kind of dirty trap cut.
Michael Jackson - "Blue Gangsta"
Part of this is just because MJ singing "I'm the Blue Gangsta" is hilarious. It's one of the tracks that already has a bit of that 808 turnup to it. Maybe I just hear everything as an easy Jersey club remix.
