As some of you may know, I was born and raised in the Central New Jersey area. Trenton, to be exact. And while most of Jersey (and the nation) see Trenton as a decrepit hole, there are a number of bright spots within the city I love, one of them being its budding arts scene. For eight years now, the team over at Artworks has been putting on a free 24-hour Art All Night - Trenton festival, featuring a ton of great art for the local community. Housed in the historic Roebling Wire Works building in Trenton, Art All Night - Trenton has grown from strength to strength each year. Bringing a number of talented musicians, visual artists, food vendors, and more into one space, this extravaganza experienced its largest growth in 2013, where over 30,000 attendees say over 1,000 pieces of art, as well as enjoyed music on three diverse stages. In 2013, DAD's own Nappy took over the indoor stage in the late night hour, bringing an eclectic mix of dubstep, trap, and all forms of bass music in between to the venue.
This year, we're taking it there.
For the 2014 edition of Art All Night Trenton, DoAndroidsDance? called upon the Dubstep Mafia to rinse out the indoor stage from 2AM until whenever we're told that people have had enough. The Dubstep Mafia is a crew from the area surrounding Trenton: while headquartered in Philadelphia, they also have affiliates in Harrisburg, PA, Baltimore, Buffalo, NY, and Allentown, PA, with affiliates everywhere from New York City to Denver, Colorado. For Art All Night, they're bringing in the big guns, all of whom are prepared to tear the house down. Their styles vary, and aren't just housed to the 140BPM dubstep scene. We highly recommend you check out their SoundCloud, just to catch the variety of brutal bassbin sounds this crew provides. Representing DSM will be Nobi, Unicron, and Booth, along with the one and only Wade Wilson on the mic, along with some very special guests!
