There's a lot of hoopla over a pair of Instagram photos uploaded to the accounts of Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso. In this time (which we should probably be marking as A.SHM [After Swedish House Mafia]), these two have stuck together while Steve Angello has spent time building his Size Records brand. While there's not been much concrete evidence or word regarding why SHM split, it's kind of telling that Angello is now signed to Columbia Records and Axwell and Ingrosso have not only linked up for the Departures project in Ibiza last year, but also released a tune on the Monsters University soundtrack. We've heard no word regarding their movements on the production side of things until these photos hit this week, and yeah, it looks like new music is on the way:
Ingrosso's studio picture has a caption: "New Music on the horizon," while Axwell says "Finishing what we started." Both end their statements with "this time we can't go home Axwell /\ Ingrosso." I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but it's easy to see that they're locked and loaded, getting ready to drop some heat on the masses. The question is simply "when?" The answer will probably come sooner than you think. And who knows, maybe the sounds of Departures could be the key to understanding what they have on the way...
