G Count, the rapper known for his long membership as a part of the LEP Bogus Boys, launched a response this afternoon to Tyga and Game's "ChiRaq to LA" diss of Lil Durk and 40 Glocc. In the song, G Count derides The Game's shout-out to the "L.E.D. Bogus Boys" [sic]. "You don't know shit about Chiraq/Dickriding me to get a pass, you don't know the G-Count like that." And later on: "As far as Chicago riding with you, point 'em out, them who?/Show me 'xactly who you talking about, I'll green light it on them too."
G Count's been a street rap vet for some time. Although they only received national notice more recently, L.E.P. have been gangster rap standard bearers in Chicago for years:
Since "ChiRaq to LA" was released, a number of Chicago street rap elder statesmen spoke up on Twitter; G Count was the first to back up Lil Durk musically. Yesterday, Legendary Traxster—producer of Do Or Die's "Po Pimp" and Twista's "Adrenaline Rush"—drew a parallel with Twista's beef with Treach of Naughty By Nature in the 1990s, and wondered if the same level of local solidarity would be there for Durk today.
Back when Naughty by Nature dissed Twista, I didn't know that nigga. He didn't fuck with me. But I took it personal... Why you say.
First I felt like don't mention "Chicago"! I felt like "Tongue Twist to ass back to Chicago" was like saying Chicago was lame or something.
Second If felt like Twista from "Chicago" we can beef with him but we gone always ride with our own against any outsider!
Third I felt like we had worked to hard to start being respected in this rap game as a city. I wasn't letting no nigga diminish that!!!
We made it a point to let the whole world know that Chicago was riding with our own over anybody!!!
