Los Angeles native Ty Dolla $ign is currently down in Austin, Texas for SXSW, where he is scheduled to perform at 15 (!!!) different showcases throughout the week. During some down time, Ty Dolla spoke with Fuse about what fans can expect from his upcoming debut album Free TC.

Named after his younger brother TC, who he says is unjustly locked up for a murder, Ty Dolla explains the album will bring awareness to the situation, as well as celebrate the style of West Coast music that he grew up on. One record Ty Dolla is eager to share is "L.A.," a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. His description of the song will certainly have fans excited, as well. "I like this song I got called 'L.A.' with Kendrick," he says. "It's like the equivalent to Jay Z and Alicia Keys' ['Empire State of Mind']. We made an L.A. [version]."

Watch the full interview above, where Ty Dolla also speaks on his recent collaboration with Lupe Fiasco on "$nitches" and meeting Tupac.
