This musical collaboration should be interesting.

While information on Lana Del Rey's upcoming album has been relatively scarce, it's clear the 27-year-old pop star is focused on completing her much anticipated project soon. Earlier today, Lana posted a photo of her and The Black Key's Dan Auerbach, where the two are sharing a rather odd moment of intimacy. Lana is sitting on Dan's lap, with the two staring into the camera like a couple being photographed for their scrapbook.

The caption Lana Del Rey added to the photo reads, "Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence." Her words are likely a reference to Auerbach contributing production to Del Rey's upcoming album. Aside from his storied history with musical partner Patrick Carney as The Black Keys, Auerbach has built up a reputation as one of the best producers out right now. In 2013, he won the Grammy award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, beating out the likes of Diplo and Jeff Bhasker.

As Pitchfork points out, there's an underlying oddity to this recent development, and it specifically deals with recent comments from The Black Keys regarding Lana Del Rey's success. "On some level, we've seen that Lana Del Rey thing since we first started, like, all of a sudden this new band would be headlining festivals, and we're like, 'Wait, how did they get that? We've been here for two, three, four, five years and we're still working our way up,'" Auerbach told MTV a few years back. "But then they're gone. Just as quickly as they get up there, they disappear."

We're sure those words have been swept under the rug.

Ultraviolence is slated for release on May 1.
