Hit-Boy had a great 2013, adding a number of massive production credits to his résumé. The short list? Beyoncé’s “XO” and “***Flawless," Drake’s “Trophies," and Jay Z’s “Somewhereinamerica." Almost all were included on the artists' albums except "Trophies." Despite being in the trailer for Nothing Was The Same, the song was omitted from the album and instead released as a surprise drop at 3:39AM for insomniac Drake fans.

Was Hit-Boy disappointed? In a new interview with Stashed TV, the 26-year-old California native reveals that he was. “Frustration is an understatement,” he said. “But it’s all love. I got respect for Drake…So I’m not going to come in and be like, ‘You gotta use this song!'... He had ‘Worst Behavior’ and some other joints that was smacking and now it’s time for ‘Trophies’ to tear these niggas apart!”

Watch the video above, where Hit-Boy discusses his career so far, his upcoming solo project to be released on his record label HS87, and the hits he’ll be making in the future. “Even the new music I’m making, man, I feel like I’m gonna win multiple Grammys off of… I’m so proud of that 'Niggas In Paris' Grammy but… I know that was just a stepping stone.”
