Nobody does real talk like Reggie Ossé a.k.a. Combat Jack. The former rap industry attorney, media executive, author, and Internet radio talk-show personality now hosts The Combat Jack Show, where hip-hop's biggest names are put on the front line. The questions will be tough—and shots will be fired. Co-hosted by Dallas Penn, Premium Pete, and Just Blaze, The Combat Jack Show appears every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday on Complex TV.

In this episode of The Combat Jack Show Jadakiss talks about coming up as a rapper in Yonkers. He started out in the group The Bomb Squad, which also included current members of The LOX, Styles P and Sheek Louch. Jadakiss says they formed the group in high school and had dreams of pursuing rap professionally. Like any other dream, nothing was guaranteed, but he still kept a positive outlook. "I think every artist, producer, believe's that it's going to happen at some point and time. You never want to just hear that you not gonna make it," he says.

Jadakiss explains The LOX got their first big break through the cousin of Mary J. Blige, who was also a native of Yonkers. "Her first cousin Jamarco, he's one of our initial members of The Bomb Squad," he says. "Once we got serious, enough that these songs were right right here, we gave it to [him] and he gave it to Mary. Which eventually she gave it to Puff[Daddy] when they was on the Jodeci tour."
