This certified Bmore legend has been fairly quiet over the last few years. Rumors of label issues and projects getting shelved seem to be the common thread for the relative silence. Now word comes that Jeffree's and Mad Decent are putting out a collection of remastered tunes from the past. First to drop as a freebie is "Gangsta," which flips the Ini Kamoze classic "Here Comes The Hotstepper" into a straight-up club banger. Elements of that classic Blaqstarr sound are injected with some new life and this immediately got me hyped for the Blaq-Files dropping on the 23rd. Cop this ASAP if you know what's good for you.
