Russell Simmons Talks to Snoop Dogg About Early Drug Usage and Ad-Rock Discovering LL Cool J

Russell Simmons sat down with Snoop Dogg for a candid conversation about their careers to-date. Simmons talked about transitions he has made in his lifestyle. He admitted to having been a heavy drug user in his early days, smoking angel dust and cocaine regularly. Apparently, he helped come up with Run-DMC's "My Adidas" while on angel dust. Nowadays, he has embraced Yoga and veganism, and during the interview, he convinced Snoop to try a vegan meatball sandwich.

Simmons and Snoop also talked about how LL Cool J got discovered and signed to Def Jam. According to Simmons, Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys discovered LL's demo tape and passed it on to Simmons and Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin. The two discussed what it takes to create future stars, and Simmons told Snoop that ultimately, trying to make "the next Snoop" will be impossible, because he is "one of a kind."
