Dev Hynes Expresses Appreciation, Discomfort After His Girlfriend's Mother Launches a Post-Fire Fundraiser

"I have a lot to think about, I don't even know where to start from, I just wanted to be honest."

Earlier this week, Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange, was the victim of a tragic fire in his home. He lost ten years of possessions, personal and professional work, and, most tragically, his puppy Cupid. The following day, a fundraiser was launched for Hynes' by his girlfriend's mother. Fans and friends have been donating to help him get on his feet, but Hynes has taken to Tumblr to express some discomfort with the support.

Hynes is considering donating the money raised by donations to three as-yet-undecided charities and is giving donors the opportunity to decide what they want him to do with the money.

One can only imagine that after such tragedy, while feeling very grateful for the support of friends, family, and fans, that it can be extremely difficult to process and grieve. Our thoughts are with Hynes.
