Not only did Eminem release his much anticipated album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 this week, but he also scored four singles in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The songs were "Rap God," "Berzerk," "Survival" and "The Monster" featuring Rihanna, which debuted at No. 3. "The Monster" landed right behind Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" and Lorde's "Royals," which has become a hit that won't quit at six consecutive weeks in the pole position.
But this is about Em. With four singles in the Top 20 as the lead artist —"featuring" doesn't count— the 41-year-old rapper from Detroit achieved a feat that hasn't been done in nearly 50 years. And the act that last did it were the Beatles, one of the most iconic artists in music, period. The "Fab Four" actually had six singles in the Top 20 for two straight weeks in April of 1964, though the lineup of songs changed slightly. That list of songs can be viewed below:
