We're a week removed from deadmau5 leaving Twitter (and leaving us with the brilliant 7), and tonight he drops his first SoundCloud bit since that opus, and everything feels connected. Diving out of the piano-laden seven-track release, "Gula" kicks off with some beautiful piano melody before diving into a bass-heavy groove. This one moves nicely, feeling like the rising of the Phoenix from the ashes, discovering its wings and truly taking flight. Still no real word from deadmau5 as of yet, but we have a feeling that all of this studio noodling and head-clearing is going to spell pristine output from the mau5 in 2014.
