Vic Mensa was the guest on "Sway In The Morning," and he got an opportunity to speak about his latest mixtape, INNANETAPE. He talked about the process of his influences and his relationship with fellow Chicago artist Chance The Rapper. He then had the opportunity to take phone calls from listeners, which led to a conversation about his unique, conversational flow patterns.

According to Vic, a fan DM'd him on Twitter to ask why the entire INNANETAPE was recorded off-beat. "There are so many different intricacies of a beat," Vic said. "When I hear a beat [...] I'm hearing different rhythms and a lot of different parts of a beat." Vic showcased his different flows during a freestyle session later on in the show. Taking on J. Cole's "Who Dat," Vic started off with a double-time flow before going off the top of his head as he closed things off.

In other news, Vic's "Lonely Day" video is currently in a contest on MTVu to be selected for a slot on rotation on The Freshman show. The voting is taking place here. Voting ends tomorrow at 2PM.
