ILLROOTS is a website that curates the culture in every possible facet, from music to fashion.

In this episode of ILLROOTS Portraits, Trashhand explains his innovative style of photography and why he has a growing admiration for graffiti artists.

Based out of Chicago, Trashhand has amassed a cult following of nearly 250,000 people on Instagram, who are treated to amazing shots that depict the city life on a daily basis. Through his travels Trashhand has found that viewing the world from the perspective of a graffiti artist has given him a unique outlook on photography. "Those dark alleys where they would set up, those are just the areas that people won't go," he says. "I think people appreciate that more than anything because they won't take those risks that you will, but still want to see those spots just as bad."
