Now this is exactly what I've been needing. Starkey has been a favorite for the last seven years (or so), and SMOG has helped the American electronic scene immensely, with the last year or two featuring a non-stop release schedule that's trumping the output of other labels in their wheelhouse. A meeting of the minds between Starkey & SMOG? Enter the Blaster EP, which is due out on October 29 and features a title track that is, truly, everything you bass music lovers need. A sprawling intro that sucks you in with subtle intricacies before delving into a heavyweight dose of screwface material. Starkey's the master of intergalactic bass beasts, and "Blaster" is no exception. If you aren't rewinding this for the rest of the day, I'm honestly not sure about what you're doing with your life.
