Before Rick Ross releases his much anticipated album Mastermind in December, the Carol City rapper held a private listening session last night at the Spotted Pig in Manhattan to preview some of the records on his project.

According to Vibe editor John Kennedy, one of his records samples The Notorious B.I.G.'s "You’re Nobody (Until Somebody Kills You)" from Biggie's classic 1997 double album Life After Death. Ross says he found inspiration for the song after being targeted in a drive-by shooting this past January. The audio of Ross' 911 call opens up the record before the instrumental comes in, where he raps about almost losing his life during the incident. As is well known in rap circles, Biggie was tragically gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles right before Life After Death was released in March. French Montana is also included on the record, which Ross never revealed a title for.

Other records played during the listening session included "Ultimate Price" and "Francis Ford Coppola." Rick Ross' Mastermind will be released December 17.
