After the taping of the BET Hip-Hop Awards this past weekend, all of the Internet chatter surrounding the show has been focused on Kendrick Lamar and the verse he delivered during the TDE Cypher. We now have a brief snippet of Kendrick's verse, which includes the part where Kendrick takes a dig at Drake.

"And nothing's been the same since they dropped 'Control'/And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes/Ha-ha, jokes on you," Kendrick said.

Nothing Was The Same, of course, is the title of Drake's third album, which just came out last week and is currently the number one selling album in the country. "Control" is the Big Sean song which had Kendrick steal the show by name-dropping this generation's biggest rappers, Drake included, and said he would "murder" them lyrically and that his goal moving forward was to make sure that their "core fans never heard" of them.

Drake has responded to Kendrick's "Control" verse in several interviews. In the cover story for Billboard magazine, he said "It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That's all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick's not murdering me, at all, in any platform." After saying that the two had met in person at the MTV Video Music Awards and that "it was all love" following the release of "Control" during his CRWN interview, Drake added more thoughts during his interview with Angie Martinez

Meanwhile, it seems like "The Language," a song off Nothing Was The Same, was Drake's lyrical response to Kendrick's line, as the Toronto native said, "I don't know who you're referring to, who is this nigga you heard about?/Someone just talking that bullshit, man someone just gave you the run-around." When asked about "The Language," however, Cash Money Records owner Birdman, who makes a vocal appearance on the song, denied that it was aimed towards Kendrick. "I would never want to see us condone that," Birdman said about possibly beefing with Kendrick or anyone on TDE.
