As discussed in last week's interview with Venus X, New York City's sub-culture incubator and full-on dance floor revolution GHE20GOTH1K celebrates its fourth anniversary with a Halloween rave tonight at 1040 Metropolitan in Brooklyn. As part of the marketing of the event, female Brick Bandits affiliate and Newark, New Jersey resident DJ Uniique drops off a brand new Jersey club remix of Drake's "Own It." A funky blend of Drake's melancholic vocals with the uptempo "Think" break, it's a well-executed remix that, like the best of all things, mixes the bitter with the sweet and, as Mary Poppins would say, proves that a "spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down in a most delightful way."
