In an interview with Fuse, Childish Gambino talks about his upcoming release Because The Internet, his feelings on Kanye West's creativity and why a recent compliment from A$AP Rocky was also a sneak diss toward him.

The 30-year-old artist explains he wants his upcoming album to be an experience, which is something he says Kanye does as well. "I don't think Kanye puts out records. He puts out whole things. Like there's projections and there's this show that goes with it, and there's this booklet that goes with it," he says. "He's like a prophet. He makes people want to be better."

Later in the interview Childish describes himself as an insecure individual. He uses A$AP Rocky as an example of someone that contrasts with his personality. "I could never be A$AP Rocky. I could never be him ’cause there’s just too much confidence in himself," he says. Childish recalls a recent encounter with the Harlem rapper, where he claims a compliment from Rocky also turned out to be a jab from him. "It was funny, yesterday he kinda sneak dissed me but also gave me props but gave himself props at the same time. He was like, 'I know you want to be me, but it’s funny, ’cause I wanna be you.'"
