The insufferably caps-lock-challenged tUnE-yArDs is a force to be reckoned with. She may not be able to beatbox like Rahzel but she can do tricks with her voice that would offer The Roots an endless grab gab of noises with which to fiddle. The artist, whose given name is Merrill Garbus, leans toward afrobeat and jazz-like nü-scat or whatever that is way to all-over-the-place for a wide audience. But maybe working with Jimmy Fallon's house band would rein her in and create something approximating accessibility. Plus, she's already worked with Questlove, who's a fan, on the Fela Kuti cover, "Lady."
