Judge Mathis Dances to Rich Gang's "Tapout" to Get Ready For Court

Judge Greg Mathis is known for his sense of humor and his ability to create lighthearted situations out of tense courtroom exchanges. This is part of the reason why his Judge Mathis television series has been running since 1999. But perhaps no moment has been quite as funny as the judge singing along to "Tap Out" by the Rich Gang collective.

Here, Mathis isn't poking fun at the parties in the courtroom; instead, he decides to poke fun at himself. This enthusiastic rendition of "Tapout" ensues as the judge gets ready for court, putting on his robe. He seems to be a big fan of the song, as he sways in place and snaps his fingers enthusistically.

Of course, Mathis has his share of street cred due to his upbringing. Raised in Detroit, Mathis was locked up numerous times as an adolescent due to involvement in gang activity. Eventually, he was able to turn his life around and persevered, becoming a district court judge before launching his reality court television show. Still, it's extremely rare to see a judge rapping along to "Tapout" in his or her chambers.

Judge Mathis himself has uploaded the video on YouTube, with the caption reading, "Candid Judge Mathis Moment."
