Jon Connor is reported to have signed a deal with Aftermath Entertainment. The reports come from the BET Hip-Hop Awards, which is currently being taped in Atlanta. During his verse on the Cypher portion of the program, Connor is believed to have made the announcement that he had signed to Aftermath, the label created by Dr. Dre.

For those who are unfamiliar with Connor, he is a native of Flint, Michigan who has been releasing projects on an independent level for several years. He released his latest project, Unconscious State, in July of this year.

Just to know he sees something in me, or that he respects what I do, or has an appreciation for what I bring to hip-hop, is something I put on my mantle."

Aftermath's most recent release was good kid m.A.A.d. city by Kendrick Lamar. The album, which came out last year, has subsequently sold over one million copies nationwide.
