Although he might not get the same consistent shine as his labelmates, OWSLA's Blood Diamonds is no doubt doing something unique and worthy of your attention. The blonde-haired Flux Pavilion doppleganger's latest, "Osaka" is an intense cross-genre whirlwind of feels. At once opening with ethereal pads and interpolated inaudible Skrillex-esque vocal chops over foreboding drum work and wind chimes, Blood Diamonds juxtaposes the delicateness of the intro against a crushing tornado of emotion, manifested in the form of ambient white noise bass blasts and even more pulverizing drum work. Blood Diamonds though executes this with a startling artistic maturity as he explores different song structure, doing what he needs to express his vision; something so many producers are too scared to do. The track is the title cut on Blood Diamonds' forthcoming OWSLA drop tomorrow, so bask in it now and grab it when it's out.
