2 Chainz Discusses Promotion for "B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time"

His projected first week sales are looking pretty low right now.

During an interview with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, 2 Chainz discussed his feelings on Def Jam's promotion for his new album B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time.

After co-host Charlamagne criticizes his label for their lack of promotion, 2 Chainz responds, "I'm doing my job. As far as Def Jam, I do a lot of footwork, so it's hard for me to see what's going on as far as the aerial process."

He continues, "As far as me being on the footwork, doing the groundwork, doing the tours, the shows. As far as the radio and the media, I feel good about my project and I know what kind of work I put into it."

With his projected first week sales sitting at 55K compared to last years' 147K for Based on a T.R.U. Story, Chainz said he can't put blame on the label for low sales. "As far as Def Jam, you don't want to get into becoming an angry rapper mode, pointing fingers at different people. 'He don't like me,' I don't get caught up in that. I'm still confident in the process of word of mouth as far as marketing and advertising."
