Art is meant to expand our creative boundaries, and in Illangelo's new music video "Crash Landing" the Toronto producer pushes listeners to the brink with remarkably cryptic visuals that are interpreted by artist Ville Haimala.
The song "Crash Landing" plays off the theme of John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost from the 17th Century, which Illangelo has incorporated on his debut concept album History of Man. The project is a 45-minute instrumental rollercoaster of emotions, pitting Illangelo's riveting production with the audible angst of mankind.
Best known for his work alongside The Weeknd –he produced a better part of House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence as well as won a Grammy for "Crew Love" with Drake– Illangelo is moving in a creative direction that needs to be heard on a spiritual level, and "Crash Landing" is a great place to start.
