North Carolina Pastor Fired for Attending Rick Ross Concert

God forgives, the church don't.

30-year-old Rodney Wills was recently fired from his post as pastor at Mt. Salem Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina after his collegues found out he attended a Rick Ross concert.

He was voted out 11 to 3 by the deacons of the church this past Saturday, which makes his four-year tenure as pastor the shortest in Mt. Salem's history. Among the 11 that voted against Rodney Wills was his uncle deacon Larry Wills. Rodney had been warned in the past about attending "worldly" concerts when members of the church found out he attended a Lil Wayne concert last year.

"We cannot have our leader supporting people of this world who are tearing down the kingdom of God," deacon Miles Langley said in a statement. “We know that many saints will have mixed opinions from our actions, but this is not how we do things here at Mt. Salem."
