Lupe Fiasco has followed up "SLR 2" with "SLR 3," another lyrical onslaught that seems somewhat inspired by Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse. Lupe doesn't really take shots at Kendrick, but does refer to the verse when he says "So what we got here?/Some Top Ramen talking about some top tier/Some top rhyming to some boxed ears?" He also addresses the attention he is receiving on social media, even though his Twitter account is private ("Still gets headlines even though my Twitter locked"). Lupe has proven this week that when motivated, he is still one of the sharpest lyricists.
