A day after debuting the laid-back single "Neptune Estate" off of his upcoming debut, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, London singer-songwriter King Krule unveiled a continuous loop of the entire project on his website. It's a cool concept, pairing live footage from London CCTV cameras with the tracks and encouraging fans to keep their eyes out for hidden objects (or perhaps insert some of their own?), just like a real live London security guard.
The album itself offers more of the slightly skewed acoustic strumming and ragged, baritone vocals King Krule, a.k.a. 18-year-old Archy Miller, has become known for. Songs hint at drawn-out punk, tidy folk and spare electronica, but, much in the way Miller sings "I'm never fully content," they never quite settle down. The tone ranges from pretty to high-strung to laconic to just plain weird, much like, it turns out, the comings and goings of the London streets.
