Big Sean Reveals He Wanted Drake's "All Me" Beat for "Hall of Fame"

You probably know who won that match.

In rap, there are moments when a particular beat gets passed on (case in point), and other times get taken. According to Big Sean, the latter occurred with "All Me," Drake's latest single featuring 2 Chainz and the Detroit rapper.

In an interview with MTV, Big Sean reveals he had a verse ready for the Key Wane-produced cut, and intended to use it for his upcoming album Hall of Fame. However, he soon found out he wasn't the only rapper that had interest. "Key Wane had that beat, and it was funny because I wanted to use it for Hall of Fame and [Drake] wanted to use the beat too."

Surrendering the beat to the Toronto rapper but still getting his verse featured, Sean says he realized this event happened for a reason. "[Drake] was like, 'I already did my verse and 2 Chainz did his verse but we've gotta get the right chorus,' and that took a while. But everything happened at the right time."

Big Sean's Hall of Fame will be released August 27.
