A$AP Ferg releases Trap Lord today, and it's an exceptional debut from the Harlem rapper who has been steadily moving up the ranks as the next one to blow from A$AP Mob. The project boasts features from the likes of Schoolboy Q, Waka Flocka Flame, B-Real, as well as Mob brethren A$AP Rocky, but it's Ferg here who shines with his penchant for vivid lyricism and an intense off-kilter flow that clutches the listener by the throat.

Complex TV caught up with A$AP Ferg to break down each of the 13 tracks on Trap Lord, and he talks about drawing inspiration from Kilo Kish for "Let It Go," handling trifling women on "Dump Dump" and making magic with female producer Crystal Caines and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony on "Lord." The 24-year-old rapper also details his recent single "Shabba," which pays homage to Jamaican dancehall artist Shabba Ranks. "He put hip-hop and Jamaican music on the pedestal for a long time, so I wanted to shout him out," says Ferg.

Watch the full clip above and be sure to cop A$AP Ferg's Trap Lord, out now on A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds/RCA. As a bonus, take a stroll through his hometown for Complex TV's The Neighborhood below.
