Janelle Monáe stunned, probably, everyone who heard her after she dropped The ArchAndroid in 2010. Her next one, The Electric Lady, arrives September 10, and more than anything the single "Dance Apocalyptic" suggests she's stayed on her game. The track now has a set of visuals, featuring both bikers and a backing band not actually playing those instruments, as it turns out.

"Dance Apocalyptic," though plenty funky, isn't quite as compulsively danceable as 2010's Big Boi-assisted "Tightrope." Just don't tell that to Monáe.
