Following in the footsteps of his fellow members in Chicago's West Side group M.I.C., diminutive rapper Lil Chris released his debut solo mixtape, Money Talks, a collection of sing-song Auto-Tune jams. With features from Lloyd and Chicago up-and-comers like Bo Deal, Dreezy and M.I.C.'s I.L. Will, the tape is a solid representation of the type of melodic, heavily Auto-Tuned rap music that has come out of the Windy City as of late. Present is Chris's minor hit, "Automatic," but, perhaps more importantly, the tape offers some important nods to the city's biggest emergent dance trend, bopping.

An excerpt of Chris's "I Got," the tape's standout song, first appeared in April as the backing track to a video of bop sensation Lil Kemo, which has racked up more than 100,000 views and serves as one of the best tutorials out there for those curious about the floppy, energetic Chicago dance craze. Chris pays further tribute to the movement on "Bop Like Me," which features the type of cartoonish beat often chosen for bop videos and shouts out local dance mini-celebrities like Team Fiesta, DLow and Kemo. For those wondering what this whole bopping thing is all about, Chris's mixtape may be the perfect place to start. Watch Lil Kemo's "Bop A Thon" video below and check out all of Money Talks here.
