While Hit-Boy may no longer be aligned with Kanye West or G.O.O.D. Music contractually, the 26-year-old rapper/producer has taken some inspiration from his previous boss in the form of "New Chains."
The music video plays off of West's record "New Slaves," with a slight beat adjustment coming in halfway through. The title "New Chains" also alludes to James Somersett, a slave that gained his freedom in 1772 through English and Welsh law. This is a fitting celebration of that event, 300 years later.
