When it comes to house and techno in the Los Angeles area, you better make sure you know the name Droog. This trio has been doing their thing in the LA area, throwing their own parties, holding down a residency for four years at Avalon, and starting Culprit, a label which has housed releases from Hot Natured, M A N I K, and Climbers. They've also taken up producing, with tracks being released on Crosstown Rebels, Supernature, and Get Physical. The last seven years have found them giving LA a proper institution for quality house and techno.

For this week's Five Tracks, Droog brought us their five best "sunset in LA" songs, featuring a number of beautiful tracks from everyone from Deep Dish to Julio Bashmore. Even if you're on the other side of the world, open up the windows and let the LA breeze hit you.

Planet Funk - "Inside All The People (Harvey's Ibiza Sleepy Mix)"

Harvey strips the original of everything but the sun-soaked melody and turns that into gold.

Talk Talk - "It's My Life"

talk talk its my life

Perhaps a bit obvious but this has always been one of my favorite songs. I remember getting the 45 of when I was child that I still cherish to this day. Every time I listen to it, I remember the video with the flamingos and whales splashing about in the sun and it brings a smile to my face.

Sven Väth - "My Name Is Barbarella (Deep Dish Armageddon Breakdown Mix)"

my name is barbarella

Been listening to this a lot lately. It brings back a time when I could just throw this on and leave my troubles behind me. When it finally reaches it apex, you can feel all of that bliss that reminds of why you started liking dance music. All 12 and a half minutes of this are completely necessary.

Julio Bashmore - "Ensnare"

This is wistful and warm, a bit emotional but uplifting too - perfect for an LA sunset. I can hear this one every day and not be tired of it, this is everything that's right with deep dance music these days.

Climbers ft. Yasmine Azaiez - "Criminal Love (Clarian's Dream in Acid Remix)"

climbers criminal love

Dramatic and a bit euphoric, this is sort of like an of-the-moment update on the the Sven Vath track. New Wave meets deep techno and they hold hands while watching the sun drop beyond the Pacific
