To most people, it became clear that DJ Khaled's proposal to Nicki Minaj was simply a well-executed promotion after Khaled released his thematically appropriate single "I Wanna Be With You" and Nicki gave her take on the issue. But Khaled's commitment seemed just strong enough to believe that maybe it wasn't.
In an interview with Richmond radio host TT Torrez, Khaled finally cleared things up once and for all, explaining, that, yes, "It was joking." Then, in true Khaledian fashion, he didn't waste the chance to boast, adding, "We be so busy making these big hits, I wanted to come with a dope plan to present the next smash record.”
Of course, if the whole thing was a joke, it does raise the question as to what's going to happen to that massive diamond ring. Is there another lucky lady waiting in the wings? Will it become the target of an elaborate jewel heist? Not exactly. Per Khaled:
