GQ put a smiling, sliver-shirted Drake on the cover to accompany an interview that took place at his new 7.7-million-dollar, 7,500-square-foot San Fernando Valley mansion: complete with a grotto, waterfalls, wine cellar, garage for the Bentley and an air-conditioned doghouse. Despite all that, in the interview, Drake insists that he doesn't live "some crazy rapper lifestyle," choosing instead to focus on recording.
He also touches on his feud with Chris Brown, his ability to withstand temptation when working, and of course his forthcoming album, Nothing Was The Same. We also got a chance to read about what could be his upcoming single, "Tuscan Leather," and how the Marvin Gaye-inspired album comes complete with samples of Curtis Mayfield and Whitney Houston.
Drake also announced a late-summer tour. Starting in late August, he'll hit the stage in 41 cities, alongside Miguel and Future, under the banner of the banner of the "Would You Like A Tour?"... Tour. The creative juices were clearly flowing all over the place during that naming session, huh? It's a little creepy, too, isn't it? Like, you can picture Lothario Drake inviting a groupie into his new house in San Fernando, all low-voiced and oily. Like, "Would you like to come up and see my etchings?"—Sobechi Ibekwe
