The term trap is synonymous with Baauer, even before mainstream America knew what a "Harlem Shake" was. He got his initial rise in 2012 with the release of "Harlem Shake," and had gained steam with trips to the UK, amazing crowds worldwide with his DJ prowess. In a random stroke of luck, Baauer's stock rose when a meme involving his "Harlem Shake" track steamrolled over the world, with everyone and their mother making their own rendition of the viral craze. This ended up shooting the track to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (and a Billboard cover story), but ultimately made Baauer one of the most in-demand DJs, seeing him tour with Just Blaze, rinse out Coachella, and practically live on the road, although he's had time to knock out remixes for AlunaGeorge and Disclosure along the way.
