On the second episode of our three part interview with Joey Bada$$ on The Combat Jack Show, Joey maps out the direction of his new mixtape, Summer Knights, which he describes as, "[1999] on crack." Joey explains that while the product is certainly good enough for a retail sticker, he wants to hold off on selling his music. "I decided that I shouldn't sell it because I feel like there's more respect I need to earn, and there's more fans I need to gain."
"You're definitely going to see my evolution," he added. Stating there will be no outside features, Joey says this new mixtape will define his whole crew going forward. "This project represents not only Joey Bada$$; it represents Pro Era."
Later in the conversation with Combat, Joey talks about getting co-signed by Mac Miller, rocking a crowd of 3,000 while still in high school, and who bodied A$AP Rocky's "1 Train" record.
Joey's new mixtape, Summer Knights, will be released on July 1.
