One of the traits that helps S1 stand out is that he's a versatile producer.  He was behind the boom-bap instrumental of the Strange Fruit Project's "Get Live" f/ Erykah Badu. The next year, he produced the grandeur of Kanye West's comeback single "Power:" Then there was the decadence of Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Murder to Excellence." Needless to say, there's quite a few production credits in between those tracks.

S1 credited his success to his work ethic in his interview with OutDaBox Media while detailing how he met some of those big artists, including Kanye West.

The producer got connected with Kanye West after he hooked Rhymefest up with four beats when he could only afford two for his album. Later, Rhymefest offered to play some of S1's beats for Kanye, who dug his work. As a result, S1 was on his way to work with him in Hawaii the very next day for the making of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

S1 also speaks on getting invited by Erykah Badu to her house to work with her and getting a chance to produce Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had." Check out the hour-long interview below:
