The legendary Mavis Staples is gearing up to drop her second collaboration with Wilco's Jeff Tweedy called One True Vine on June 25.

Today, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner Staples releases "I Like The Things About Me," a song she used to perform with the Staple Singers and was written by Pops Staples and Martha Stubbs.

Tweedy plays all the instruments on the recording except for drums, which his son Spencer plays.

“All of these songs are me, but in a different way, with a different sound,” Staples says. “The phrasing, the tempos, the arrangements are different, but the messages are the same things I’ve been saying down through the years. They’re about the world today—poverty, jobs, welfare, all of that—and making it feel better through these songs.”
