Amir: "That's a known song, Bill Doggett was produced by James Brown, so a lot of collectors had his stuff. The first one to ever use it was The Beatnuts on 'Are You Ready?' It was just a straight loop. A lot of songs on The Beatnuts album, sample-wise, I was blown away. As a collector, it made me go look for those records."

Kon: "Beatnuts and Grand Puba. Perfect example of a funky loop. I always said from a a production standpoint, it's real easy to fuck up a perfect loop. You don't need to do any chopping unless you're really great at it like Dilla. Just run the loop and rhyme over it, you don't need to do anything fancy. Killer track."

Sampled On: The Beatnuts f/ Grand Puba "Are You Ready (1994)
