Jackson spoke with Billboard about janet. on its 20th anniversary and talked about her creative control over the work, the artists she's inspired with it (she's a fan of the Kendrick Lamar's "Any Time, Any Place"-sampling "Poetic Justice"), and how janet.'s maturity marked a turning point in her career.

She also dropped a gem toward the end of the interview: She's working on a new project:

"I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music. I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don’t want to rush it... I don’t want to put a time constraint on the creative process."

This is exciting as it's been five years since her last album and two since her last tour. Come on, this is the same woman who made "Again," after all.
