The Bullitts is a project by Jeymes Samuel, a jack-of-all-trades filmmaker/singer/songwriter who managed to nab a Jay Electronica guest verse for the track "They Die By Dawn." Joined by Yasiin Bey and Lucy Liu, the track plays like the kind of song that should have been on Django Unchained (though nothing is gonna beat that scene when Rick Ross' "100 Black Coffins" comes on).
Today, they dropped the video for "They Die By Dawn." It stars Michael K. Williams (of The Wire fame) and Bokeem Woodbine (of "oh, you mean that guy" fame) as cowboys as well as Rosario Dawson and Erykah Badu.
The video plays more like a trailer to a film than an actual music video with a generic plot. There's a lot of shootouts happening but we really couldn't tell you why they're happening or what they're about. But hey, they sure look pretty. What does it matter either way? We'll all be dead by dawn anyhow.
