DMX has had a turbulent past, to say the least. According to him, he's been arrested "roughly 30" times, and he has been in and out of institutions since he was only seven years old.
This Oprah Network interview, hosted by Iyanla Vanzant, gets fairly emotional, revealing that the undisputed dog himself had trouble vying for the love of his mother, who put him in an institution when he was a child. X says he enjoyed his time in the system, though, acknowledging the free meals and clothes it afforded him.
He goes on to answer the direct question "Who are you?" without any barking, but saying that he is a blessing to both himself and those who get to really know him. Finally, the host asks him, very seriously: "Are you high?"
The jury's still out until the rest of the episode airs, but be sure that when it comes to fascinating answers, X gon' give it to ya.
