If there was a futures market in rappers, Kevin Gates would be a sure thing. A marketable gangster and a gentleman, the rapper has songs for the ladies and songs for the streets, intricate wordplay, a sixth sense for musicality and a great new tape entitled The Luca Brasi Story which, seemingly out of nowhere, is getting reams of critical attention.
Hard to complain about that. "Neon Lights" isn't quite the tour de force video that was "Satellites," but the video's blurry color saturation perfectly matches the production's disorienting feel.
